Hey! The past few days have been soooo rainy and grey…I should be used to this by now, because this is not unusual for Salzburg. But still I’m finding it very hard to accept this bad spring weather haha 😀 Nonetheless I love the city for all its charming alleyways and nice buildings…Salzburg is soo charming!
The good thing about this weather is that I mostly stay inside and draw 🙂 So this is the first drawing I want to show you:
I found the photo of this girl on the internet and I thought it looks quite interesting so I decided to draw it 🙂
I like her messy hair and her big, expressive eyes. Although she’s got that messy hairstyle and casual clothes she looks so elegant, don’t you think?
For this drawing I used graphite, charcoal, white soft pastels, black and white polychromos and my Canson Mi-Teintes paper (which is great for pastel btw).
It didn’t take me too long to draw this portrait….maybe 2-3 hours. Usually it takes much longer to draw a portrait. This was much easier because it’s in black and white. Coloured portraits take up so much more time because it’s quite difficult to get the shading (with the right colours) right.
Tell me what you think about it in the comments 🙂 ❤
